Covid-19 and Your Pet
- If you are self-isolating you can let your pet stay with you during this time
- The virus is most commonly spread from person to person through coughing and sneezing. There is currently no evidence that companion animals can spread Covid-19 to people
- It is always recommended to practice good hygiene, such as regular hand washing with soap and hot water, especially after handling or feeding your pet. Avoid allowing your pet to lick your face.
- If your pet starts to cough and sneeze it is recommended to contact your veterinarian for further instructions and to always make an appointment before arriving at the veterinarian’s office
At this time there is no evidence cats or dogs can get sick from the Covid-19 virus
